About the Author
Emily Paull is a writer of short fiction and historical fiction from Perth, Western Australia. She has degrees in Creative Writing, History, Publishing and is currently doing her Masters in Information Studies.
Her work has appeared in journals such as Westerly and Tenderfoot, as well as in the anthologies, Joiner Bay and Other Stories, Shibboleth and Other Stories (Margaret River Press, WA) and [Re]Sisters (For Books’ Sake, UK).
She has been shortlisted for the John Marsden/ Hachette Australia Award for Young Writers and the Hadow/Stuart Award. In 2014 she was Young Writer in Residence at the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre.
A former bookseller, Emily was twice nominated for the ABIA Young Bookseller of the Year Award. She was manager of WA bookshop, Bookcaffe, for five years until its closing.
Her book reviews have appeared on websites such as the AU Review, as well as her own website, She is a regular moderator at the Perth Writers Festival, and in 2018 was a guest at the Australian Short Story Festival.
Emily is the co-founder of the popular Write Nights program at the Centre for Stories.
