Hi! I'm Emily Paull and I am a writer of
short fiction and historical fiction from Perth, Western Australia. I have degrees in Creative Writing, History, Publishing and I am currently doing my Masters in Information Studies.
My work has appeared in

Other Stories, We'll Stand in that Place and Other Stories (Margaret River Press, WA) and [Re]Sisters (For Books’ Sake, UK).
I have been shortlisted for
the John Marsden/ Hachette Australia Award for Young Writers and the
Hadow/Stuart Award. In 2014 I was a Young Writer in Residence at the Katharine
Susannah Prichard Writers Centre.
A former bookseller, I
was twice nominated for the ABIA Young Bookseller of the Year Award. I was
book-buyer at WA bookshop, Bookcaffe, for five years until its closing.
My book reviews have
appeared on websites such as the AU Review, as well as this website, www.emilypaull.com I am a regular moderator at the Perth
Writers Festival, and at library events around Perth, and in 2018 I was a guest at the Australian Short Story
Festival.
I'm also the co-founder of
the popular Write Nights program at the Centre for Stories.
In 2019, I am very excited to announce that Margaret River Press will be publishing my debut collection of short stories, Well-Behaved Women.
