Join us at Bassendean Memorial Library for a captivating author talk and interview featuring two local writers, Emily Paull and Rachael Johns. 
In this special event, Emily and Rachael will sit down for an engaging conversation about their writing journeys, creative processes, and their latest novels: The Distance Between Dreams and The Bad Bridesmaid. With Emily's sharp insight into character and emotion and Rachael's bestselling tales of contemporary life and relationships, this promises to be an evening full of warmth, wit, and literary charm.

Emily Paull is a Western Australian librarian, author and book reviewer. Paull wrote her first collection of short fiction, 'Well-Behaved Women', in 2019. 'The Distance Between Dreams' is her debut novel and was shortlisted for the 2023 Fogarty Literary Award. It's a heart-wrenching romance/historical fiction, set in Fremantle in the lead-up to and throughout WWII. 


During this book club, guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, interact with the author, and enjoy a bookish discussion. Hosted by David Allan-Petale – brought to you via Libby, the library reading app

Celebrate the release of The Distance Between Dreams, the new historical fiction novel by Emily Paull, shortlisted for the 2023 Fogarty Literary Award.
 
Fremantle Press invites you to a special event at AH Bracks Library and Creative Space, where Emily will be in conversation with fellow historical fiction writer, Michael Burrows. Together, they will explore the art of writing historical fiction set in Western Australia, the dedication required for research, and the vital role of preserving history through storytelling.
